Jessenia LOVED that her card had a mirror. In fact, Reese also loved that her card had a mirror. Let the contention begin.
Reese loved that his card had a truck on it. But more importantly, he was ecstatic about the Lightning McQueen stamp on the outside. He walked around with that envelope for days. I found out later from my mom that she put that stamp on just for him, even though it was already a prepaid envelope. Looks like that forty-something cents was totally worth it to this 3 year old.
I realize that with my whiz-bang camera it is hard to see the look of utter joy on that child's face as he waves two dollars in the air, but trust me, it is there. Each of the children got two dollars that we are going to use to go get ice cream after Daddy is done with finals. I of course immediately confiscated their money (they were not happy) and they like to point at it, stuck up on the fridge.
Brisbane mostly just liked the envelope. He also took a bite out of the card. Brisbane is on a steady diet these days of paper. He is not a respector of paper but eats all kinds. It is a constant struggle.
And the looks on those kids faces are those of absolute envy. Brisbane's card had Snoopy stickers in it. So even though Jessenia had the mirror and Reese had the truck and Lightning McQueen, they both immediately coveted Brisbane's stickers.
